Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. Nature of donations

Payments made through vvawales.com (when donation checkout is enabled) are voluntary charitable contributions to the Vietnam Veterans Of America — Wales, Michigan chapter. They are not purchases of goods or tickets, unless a specific paid event is clearly labeled as such on the site.

2. General rule — donations are final

Because donations fund ongoing chapter programs, all completed donations are generally non-refundable and cannot be cancelled after the payment processor confirms success. Please review the amount carefully before you submit.

3. Exceptions we will consider

We may issue a full or partial refund, at our discretion, if:

• Duplicate charge — the same donation was processed more than once in error.
• Unauthorized transaction — you did not authorize the payment (provide bank/card dispute details).
• Technical error — a processor or site bug charged an amount other than what you confirmed on screen.
• Clear mistake — you notify us promptly (see timing below) and the funds have not yet been allocated to a program.

4. How to request a refund

Email contact@vvawales.com or call (943) 241-3743 with:

• Donor name and email used at checkout
• Date and approximate amount
• Last four digits of the card (if card) or bank reference
• Reason for the request

Please contact us within 14 days of the charge. We aim to respond within 5 business days. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method and may take 5–10 business days to appear, depending on your bank or card issuer.

5. Recurring / scheduled gifts

If we offer recurring donations in the future, you may cancel future installments at any time by emailing contact@vvawales.com before the next billing date. Charges already processed follow the rules above.

6. Cancelled or failed payments

If your bank declines a payment or the processor marks it failed, no donation is recorded and nothing is owed. You may try again with another method. Incomplete checkouts that were never confirmed are not charges.

7. Event registrations (if offered)

If a page clearly sells a paid event ticket or registration (not a general donation), cancellation rules for that event will be stated on that page. If none are stated, contact us at least 7 days before the event for a possible refund minus any non-recoverable costs.

8. Chargebacks

Please contact us first so we can resolve billing issues quickly. Unnecessary chargebacks may delay help for other donors and may lead us to decline future gifts from the same payment method.

9. Changes

We may update this policy by posting a revised page with a new “Last updated” date. The policy in effect on the date of your donation applies to that donation.
